RIL Maps Innovation Hubs in Uganda
Connecting innovators with hubs to support their growth
Innovation hubs are connecting young entrepreneurs, programmers, designers, and investors and facilitating growth and collaborations across the innovation ecosystem. Many hubs in Uganda focus on technical innovation support, such as co-working spaces, products labs, hackathons, boot camps, design sprints, and Human (User) Centered Design to support innovators and entrepreneurs to reach their markets.
The Response Innovation Lab is a different type of support from the innovation hubs. It exists to solve real, on-the-ground humanitarian problems, and support local actors to develop customized solutions that fit the challenges in their communities – in practice, this means among others that we serve as a bridge between emergency actors in the refugee response and innovators or innovation hubs across the country.
The Response Innovation Lab has set up this interactive mapping platform to empower innovators with continued support by highlighting where innovation hubs, accelerators, and co-working spaces are located and the hours of operation. The intention of the map is to highlight all innovation hubs and business incubators in Uganda so innovators can identify and reach out to them, starting with the hubs closest to their location.
